Charles (A to Z Pawn Shop)

From iWiki

Charles stands as one of the most debated figures among prank call victims, sharing this distinction with Chris the Hacker. A man around 28 years old, Charles works at a pawn shop nestled in Stilwell, Oklahoma. His initial encounter with prank calls dates back to approximately 2008 when Y2Jericho, utilising a Duncan soundboard, first reached out to him. Notably, Charles swiftly recognised the calls as prerecorded, initially assuming the voice belonged to Thomas Wilson, presumably the father of the Redneck Teen. During these initial interactions, Charles even involved a local Sheriff's deputy, seemingly a friend posing as an officer. Subsequent calls featured soundboards of other prank victims, including Tom the Pissed Off Roofer, his wife, and Chris the Hotel Spaz.

More recently, interactions with Charles have adopted a more casual tone. He established his own YouTube account under the name "AtoZpawner," suggesting an upcoming interview with Duncan (who coincidentally resides in Stilwell as well). This, however, was Charles' attempt at a misguided prank, as confirmed by Frank (Duncan) himself, who debunked the notion of any interviews.

Interestingly, Frank appears to hold Charles accountable for the barrage of pranks he receives, leading to an incident where Frank, evidently angered, confronted Charles at the pawn shop, issuing threats. Subsequently, Charles blocked prank callers from his YouTube account and proceeded to issue threats of his own, falsely claiming he possessed personal information about users and resorting to empty warnings to extract such details. This approach paradoxically intensified the prank calls directed at him. Despite this, Charles now seldom engages with prank callers, opting to ignore most attempts, aside from sporadic dismissive responses.

Recent developments, however, suggest a shift in Charles' stance. He has participated in a couple of interviews, acknowledging his genuine desire to secure an interview with Frank, albeit unsuccessfully. Confirming that Frank did indeed visit the pawn shop and threaten him, Charles appears to have distanced himself significantly from the prank call community. Despite the occasional "I'm not fuckin' with you today" statement, Charles primarily refrains from engaging with prank callers, seemingly withdrawing from active participation. Notably, Charles was part of a conference call involving Chris and several law enforcement agencies, reflecting his engagement with more serious matters.
